I tested the Archer AX6000 using a Dell XPS 13 laptop in my office. Dell XPS was equipped with a killer Wi-Fi 6 AX1650s (802.11ax) network adapter. On our test, AX6000’s score was nearly identical to that of Netgear RAX120. But AX6000 was slower than Asus RT-AX88U. On the 30-foot test, AX6000’s score was just a tad slower than both Asus RT-AX88U and Netgear RAX120.
In our record, throughput performance on the 5GHz band was extreme. The AX6000’s score was just a few Mbps slower than Asus RT-AX88U. And Netgear RAX120 is on the top in our record. On the 30-foot rest, AX6000 trail the Netgear RAX120 by more than 100 Mbps but coming in the right behind the Asus RT-AX88U.
To test file-transfer performance, we move a 1.5 GB folder. The folder was containing video, photo, office document files and music between a USB 3.0 drive. The USB 3.0 drive was to the router and a desktop PC to test read and write speeds. The writing score of AX6000 was on the top, then Netgear RAX120 and Asus RT-AX88U. And AX6000 read rating couldn’t quite keep up with Asus RT-AX88U but was slightly faster than Netgear RAX120.
